GE Oil & Gas transfers licenses and technologies for the repair of gas turbines and compressors to a Kazakh company

GE Oil & Gas and JSC "ZKMK" ("West Kazakhstan Machine Building Company») we announced the signing of an agreement on the transfer of licenses and technologies for the repair of gas turbines and compressors in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The agreement was signed by Konstantin Nazarov, Director of GE in Kazakhstan, and Alibi Akhmedzhanov, General Director of JSC "ZKMK".

JSC "ZKMK" will be able to service gas turbines under construction and existing gas transportation and oil and gas projects on the territory of Kazakhstan, Central Asian states and Azerbaijan.

To date, GE Oil & Gas has already successfully cooperated with JSC ZKMK within the framework of a memorandum on the production of a number of components for GE gas pumping units on the basis of ZKMK. The agreement on localization of production and technology transfer of the GE10 gas turbine with a capacity of 11+ MW on the basis of JSC "ZKMK" together with JSC "NWF "Samruk-Kazyna" is also in the final stage of development.

In July 2009, GE already implemented one investment project, when GE Transportation, one of GE's business units, announced the grand opening of a new locomotive assembly plant in Astana, which was the first step in the implementation of the cooperation program between the Republic of Kazakhstan and GE.

 GE Oil & Gas already has experience of successful cooperation with JSC ZKMK

GE Oil & Gas has been present in Kazakhstan since the late 70s, when the company delivered 22 gas pumping units to the Soyuz gas pipeline (Uralsk and Chizha gas pipelines). Currently, the company's installed fleet in Kazakhstan exceeds 50 gas turbines and 50 compressors of various capacities, including unique equipment for the re-injection of sulfur dioxide into the reservoir at the Karachaganak, Tengiz, and Kashagan fields, which has no analogues in the world.
